Space to Listen Again
There are seasons when words come easily, and seasons when they become quieter.
Over the past several months, I have spent much of my time doing the work I care deeply about—walking alongside students, families, and educators during the school year. It has been meaningful work, but it has also been full. Somewhere along the way, I noticed I had become so focused on helping others listen to their own lives that I had stopped making space to listen to my own.
Summer has offered me something I was missing: a slower pace, room to breathe, and the quiet needed to return to reflection.
I have come to see that JourneyWork was never meant to be another place where I felt pressure to produce. It was always meant to be a place to notice, to wonder, and to listen. Sometimes that means writing often. Sometimes it means stepping back long enough to have something genuine and honest to say when I return.
So I'm here again, not because I have everything figured out, but because I have space to begin listening once more.
